TIPPERARY'S Dylan Slevin enjoyed his best run yet at this year's PDC Players Championship as he stormed through to the last eight with some excellent displays today.

Ocean's Slevin was in fine form at PC8 in Hildesheim as he opened up with a 6-3 win over Croatia's Pero Ljubic, averaging 96.64 in the process.

He was even more impressive in last 64 clash against top seed Dave Chisnall as Slevin averaged just shy of 100 as he beat the Englishman 6-2.

That set up a board final with fellow Irishman, William O'Connor, which Slevin - just as he did at the PDC World Championships in December - coming out on top in a tough battle.

After building up a 5-3 lead in that game, Slevin was made to sweat as the Magpie came flying back at him to level it up at 5-5, with Slevin holding his nerve to win the last leg decider.

That put him through to  a last 16 clash with Sebastian Bialecki, which Slevin won more comfortably 6-3 as he rattled off the final three legs on the spin and averaging 95.85.

In his quarter final clash with Jeffrey De Graaf, Slevin came from 5-1 down against his Swedish opponent to level at 5-5, as he looked to pull off a remarkable comeback.

However it was De Graaf who won that last leg to advance to the last four, where he beat England's Dom Taylor before losing out in the final to Germany's Martin Schindler.
