LOUTH darts sensation Dylan Quinn has enjoyed another good day on the PDC Development Tour as he finished the best of the Irish at the two events held today.
Already sitting in the top 20 on the Development Tour Order of Merit, Quinn has consolidated that with a superb run to the last eight in Event 7.
He began that event strongly with a whitewash win over Holland's Rian Veltman in his opening round, before he had to dig deep to come through a last leg decider against Englishman Conor Arberry.
That set Quinn up for an all Irish clash against Dublin's Sean McKeon which he won 4-2 with a 84.88 average.
In his last 32 clash with England's Jack Howarth, Quinn again held his nerve to win the final leg for a crucial 4-3 win.
He then came up against another familiar face in Donegal's Owen Carr in his last 16 game, with Quinn averaging an impressive 88.08 to record another 4-2 win.
His run eventually came to an end when he was beaten 5-2 by experienced Czech player Adam Gawlas in the quarter finals.
Quinn had earlier made it to the last 32 in event 6, while fellow Irish player Aidan O'Hara, who started the day 13th on the Order Of Merit, also enjoyed a good run.
Tipperary man O'Hara made it as far as the last 16 in Event 7, which will have seen him pick up some more crucial ranking money.
The run for O'Hara saw him beat the likes of England's Lleyton Molyneaux, Belgium's Xanti Van den Bergh, Germany's Jannes Bremermann, Dutchman Justin Atellinghusen and Bradley Roberts of Wales.
