STEPHEN Rosney has roared into the last 16 of the WDF World Championships after another brilliant performance from him on the Lakeside stage.
The Republic of Ireland captain has yet to lose a set as he won his second match in succession 3-0, as he got past Switzerland's number 14th seed Thomas Junghans tonight.
It means Rosney will return to the Lakeside tomorrow to take on New Zealand's Ben Robb for a chance to make it into the last eight.
That should prove to be a top class tie as both Rosney and Robb have shown themselves to be two of the most in-form players in the competition so far.
Junghans certainly learned that to his cost tonight as Rosney turned on the style.
The Offaly county captain had to come from 2-1 down to nick the opening set with back-to-back 16 dart legs.
He never really looked back after that, however, as he wrapped up the second set in quick-fire fashion, winning all three legs, two of them in just 15 darts.
Rosney didn't take his foot off the pedal as he also won the third and final set 3-0, meaning he won the last eight legs of the match without reply.
It's that sort of form that will give him hope of progressing further, even if he faces a tough challenge against Robb, who defeated former WDF World champion Neil Duff in his last match with a 96.29 average, the best of the tournament so far.
