Dylan aiming for more after topping INDO Development Tour rankings

PROGRESS can be measured in many ways, and for Galway darts star Dylan Dowling he has two big aims in mind to make that happen.

Dylan just recently finished off top of the INDO Development Tour rankings as he continues to show why he's one of the most promising darts talents coming out of Ireland.

He's also making waves on the PDC Development Tour - sitting in the top 25 out of over 160 players - and picking up wins on the PDC Challenge Tour too.

Speaking to Darts In Ireland, Dylan said he was delighted to top the INDO Development Tour in its first year, but has bigger goals in mind now.

He said: "It was great to finish top of the INDO's Development Tour as it's over a whole year and you have to show consistency for that.

"I was third in the rankings going into the final weekend so I knew I had to at least make the final of the last event to stand any chance of topping it and that's what I did.

"I lost out in the final to Ronan McDonagh but he's playing brilliant darts right now and is capable of beating anybody."

Dylan is also showing what he's capable of when travelling to the UK and beyond for the PDC Development and Challenge Tours.

He's been one of the top players on the PDC Development Tour over the past two years and says he enjoys playing at that level.

He said: "I seem to perform better at that than I do even here in Ireland.

"I like everything about the set up over there and I just get very focussed from the start.

"I also don't seem to let small things that can happen in games bother me as much when I'm playing there than they might do when I'm playing in Ireland and that keeps me focussed too."

And his focus now is on two big goals.

Dylan added: "I'd like to push on in the PDC Development Tour and try to qualify for next year's UK Open. I just missed out on that this year so that is one big goal.

"The other is to try concentrate on the INDO Men's rankings events over the next year and try make it onto the Ireland team for 2026.

"I'll also give the PDC Q School a go again next January as I felt I handled myself pretty well at it this year by making it into the final stages."
