IT was another good day for the Irish on the PDC Development Tour as both Dylan Dowling and Ronan McDonagh won a series of games to progress to the latter stages of Event 10.
Galway man Dowling had his best run of the weekend as he made it through to the last eight, while Offaly star McDonagh won four games on the spin before bowing out in the last 16.
Dowling, who finished in the top 20 on the PDC Development Tour last year, has opened up the opportunity of doing so again following his good run today.
He began his day with a whitewash win over Holland's Denfie Drenthen, before then completing a 4-1 win over Belgium's Nunjo Dewaele.
Dowling continued his impressive form by pulling off another 4-0 win the last 64 over Ieuan Halsall of Wales, to set up a clash with England's Jack Male.
He came through that game, too, averaging 89.05 in a 4-2 win, before advancing to the quarter finals by winning a last leg decider against Dutchman Levy Frauenfelder.
That put Dowling through to his last eight clash with Germany's Dominik Gruellich, which he lost 5-2 to the man who went on to win the event.

McDonagh had fallen to the same opponent a round earlier, but not before he enjoyed some big wins of his own along the way.
This included a whitewash win over England's Jamie Baggaley in his opening round, before seeing off fellow Irishman, Thomas Keane, 4-1 in his second match.
McDonagh kept his run going with another 4-1 win, this time over Englishman Nathan Care, to put him through to a last 32 clash with Holland's Rohan Brouwers.
He had to keep his nerve in that to record a 4-3 win, as he won three of the last four legs in that match.
McDonagh then produced his best average of the day with a 92.06 but unfortunately came up against an in-form Gruellich who beat him 4-2 on his way to winning PDC Development Tour 10.
