IT was an action packed opening day of group action at the INDO Inter Counties B Championships as a number of teams got to show what they were all about.
The Mayo ladies team have shot to the top of their group by winning all five of their games to mark themselves out as hot favourites to win the championship outright.
With the Ladies B singles champion, Catherine Fleming, amongst their team, Mayo have shown why they are strong contenders after seeing off the challenge of Wexford, Galway, Dublin, Kerry and Carlow today.
It leaves them in a strong position going into tomorrow's knockout stages, although with Dublin and Carlow also picking up a number of wins each, they will still fancy their chances.

Meanwhile in the men's section, last year's beaten finalists Donegal look to be all business as they won all but 10 of their 52 Group 2 games today to finish the day with the highest points total of 42.
The Galway men's team also had a strong day as they picked up an impressive 35 points in Group 3, while Group 4 winners Mayo picked up 33 points, while Waterford topped Group 1 ahead of Dublin with 31 points.
In Group 5 Limerick and Meath 1 took the top two spots with 32 points each, while the likes of Kilkenny, Offaly, Kerry, Sligo, Roscommon, Leitrim, Wexford and the Donegal Development team have also made it through to the knockout stages of the cup tomorrow.
The final place in the last 16 has gone to Meath 2 as they just edged out Louth on leg difference.
It means they will compete in the shield competition tomorrow alongside Cork, Tipperary, Westmeath, Clare, Cavan, Kildare, Kaois and Carlow.
