THE feeling of pride has been tinged with a little bit of frustration for Limerick after they came up just short in both the team and singles events at the INDO Inter Counties B Championships.
The Limerick team more than played their part in a superb final against Dublin on Sunday night as they agonisingly lost 7-6 in a game that could have gone either way.
That came just two days after Limerick player Alan Cronin was beaten in the final of the INDO Inter Counties B singles final by Donegal's Derek Gallagher.
Limerick's captain Stephen Liston said making two finals on the same weekend showed just how the county's players performed at the Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney.
A proud Stephen said: "I have total respect for every one of our players, they gave everything. We got to the final, which went right to the wire at 6-6 and just didn't go our way. But I couldn't be more proud of our players.
"Dublin pipped us at the post but that's darts. We're still happy as Limerick is progressing as a county and we will be back."
The Limerick team performed brilliantly all weekend, topping a tough Group 5 on Saturday ahead of strong Meath and Offaly teams, before progressing all the way to the final on Sunday with impressive knockout wins over Kerry, Mayo and Sligo.
Stephen added: "Everything went so well all weekend for us. The team selections were well planned out, we had 20 players here and every one of the 20 players are thought of very highly by us."

Meanwhile, Stephen reserved special praise for his Limerick team-mate Alan Cronin after he made it through a field of up to 300 players to make it to the singles final.
Alan unfortunately had to settle for the runner-up prize in that too, but Stephen said everyone in Limerick was super proud of him.
He said: "Alan is a savage player. He was absolutely outstanding for us all weekend.
"He is a serious player and one to watch for the future."
And Stephen said he firmly believed that Limerick darts was going in the right direction.
He said: "We are absolutely on the up and we will be back. I want to congratulate Dublin on their win but Limerick will do it one day soon."
