OFFALY darts star Ronan McDonagh has given himself every chance of qualifying for Group B at the Modus Super Series after picking up three crucial wins today.
After a difficult opening day in Group A for McDoangh, when he had just one win out of five, he has now jumped up to fourth in the table, just two points off third, which would guarantee a place in Group B later this week.
Despite losing his opening two games today, McDonagh picked himself up off the canvas to record a whitewash win over Peter Wachiuri with an impressive 95.43 average.
That good form continued into his next game, with McDonagh taking down group leader Adam Gawlas 4-1 to revive his flagging Modus campaign.
He then finished off the day in perfect fashion by recording another big win, 4-1 over Charlie Manby, to leave himself on eight points in the group.
It all means that McDonagh is within touching distance of Manby, who is in third place on 10 points, with that pair to face off against each other again tomorrow morning.
That game will now go a long way to deciding who will finish in the top three, which will guarantee a spot in Group B on Thursday night.
