DONEGAL darts sensation Charlie Doherty says he's hungry for more success after a stunning double win for him at the INDO Grand Prix weekend.
The 13-year-old claimed victory in Event 2 of Division C in the INDO Players Championships, and then followed that up by claiming the Boys Grand Prix on Saturday.
Speaking to Darts In Ireland, Charlie said he was delighted with his double win, but has promised there is more to come.
Charlie said: "I'm very happy with how I played over the weekend, I played very well and hopefully now I can keep it up for the rest of the season."
Charlie's win in the final of the Players Championships over Division C leader, Chris Menton of Kilkenny, means he is now sitting in second place in the table, having also made the final of Event 1.
The winner of Division C will gain a spot at the 2026 WDF World Masters, with the top youth player in the division also gaining a spot, which Charlie clearly has his eye on.
He added: "The Players Championship is a good tournament, especially as it now leads to the World Masters if you do well in it so that will be my aim for it now. It's where I want to get to."
Meanwhile, Charlie also has eye on making future Ireland Boys teams after picking up his first major ranking win.
He now sits joint-top of the INDO Boys rankings table after two events and will be keen to stay right up there throughout the rest of the season.
Charlie said: "If I keep up the form I have now I will have a good chance of being in those places for the Ireland teams, I'll try my best anyway.
"I've improved a lot over the last year and have brought my average by 10 or 15 points so I'm playing a lot better than I was this time last year.
"That's down to more practice and also playing at more tournaments.
"The standard is definitely rising in the youth game too and I enjoy playing in the men's events as well as you're coming up against all the best players and that can only help to improve my game even more."
