DAMIEN Grimes and Robyn Byrne have continued their recent good run of form with further success for the pair at this weekend's INDO Matchplay event in Galway.
Louth man Grimes kicked off his weekend with a brilliant win in the INDO Players Championships Dvision A on Friday night, and followed that up by winning the INDO Ranking event on Saturday night.
Grimes accounted for current Republic of Ireland captain, Stephen Rosney, and rising Mayo star Ultan McDyer on his way to the final on Saturday night, where he came up against Ireland's current number one in the rankings, Dale McCarthy, of Kerry.
The reigning INDO Inter Counties singles champion showed his class in that final, averaging just over 88 as he recorded an impressive 6-0 win.
It means Grimes is now into the top five in the men's INDO rankings, a position which could earn him a spot in future Ireland teams if he maintains it.

One player who is almost always assured of her spot on Ireland teams is current ladies captain Robyn Byrne, who looks to be cementing her place again following her latest INDO rankings win.
Robyn was in fine form as he defeated her Ireland team-mate Denise Cassidy 4-2 in a superb semi-final.
She maintained that form in the final as she came out a 5-1 victor over Sara Joyce to move into second place in the ladies rankings behind her fellow Dubliner Katie Sheldon.
Elsewhere, Waterford's young superstar, Jack Caulfield, also secured more success by winning the INDO'S youth WDF World Masters qualifier to claim a spot at the competition in Hungary in November.
There was also success for Galway's Ryan Murphy as he won the latest round on the INDO Development Tour with victory over Dublin's Ryan McKenna in the final.
