THE latest round of the INDO Players Championships threw up two new division winners on a night of drama at the Shearwater Hotel in Galway.
Leitrim's Ben Mulvey and Louth star Damien Grimes were two of the big winners on the night as they won the Division B and Division A leagues respectively.
Mulvey has certainly put himself very much in contention for a shot at the WDF Masters spot that is up for grabs in each division as he beat Div B leader Brian Todd of Limerick 5-4 in a tight and tense final.
The Leitrim man was in fine form all night, opening up with a whitewash win over Jim Rock and posting a 71.57 average.
He was equally impressive in his quarter final matchup with Edward McDonald, coming through that one 5-3 by winning three of the last four legs in the match.
Mulvey assured himself of a spot in the Division B final with another whitewash win in his last four clash with Donegal's Jackson Timoney.
That set up a final with Todd, with Mulvey having to show grit to come from 4-3 down to win the final two legs and grab the winner's prize.
Todd won't be too upset, however, as his run to the final means he's still the clear leader at the top of Division B.

It's the same story for Kilkenny's Chris Menton in Division C as he extended his lead at the top by winning his second event out of three on Friday night.
Menton showed little mercy as he streaked through the semi-finals of Division C with four wins on the trot, for the loss of just three legs while doing so.
That set up a semi-final clash with the impressive Tyler O'Connor, who has jumped into the top three of the Division C table following his strong run.
O'Connor more than matched Menton in the early stages, with tge game tied at 2-2, before Menton's class shone as he won the final three legs in just 55 darts.
He maintained that going into his final with Blake Carter, as Menton came through as the 5-3 winner in that one.

Meanwhile in Division A, reigning INDO Inter Counties singles champion Damien Grimes picked up another big win as he came through a stacked field of top class players.
The Louth man showed just why he's now one of the most respected players in the country as he kept his nerve to squeeze through a quarter final clash with Neilie Brouder 6-5, before accounting for William O'Toole in the last four with a 6-2 win and an 83 average.
He was in event better form in the final against Ireland international Paddy Quinn as Grimes came from 2-0 down to win 6-3 with an average of just over 88.
It means there has been three different winners in Division A of the Players Championships so far, with Mayo's Conor Heneghan and Monaghan's Shane McGuirk picking up a series win.
