IRISH darts star Niall Culleton put on a top class display to storm through Group 8 and claim a spot in finals day at the ADC Global Championships.

The Carlow man was in sensational form as he won all but one of his games to take his place in the last eight.

He will now have the chance of playing for the £60,000 top prize when the ADC Global Championships returns on January 4.

With just one spot up for grabs in the four man group, Culleton made sure he got off to a flyer as he defeated fellow Irish player Dean Gallagher in his opening game.
He followed that up with back-to-back wins over Dutch brothers Wesley and Danny van Trijp, with Culleton even hitting an incredible 112 average in the latter match.
He maintained that momentum in the second half of the group as further wins over Gallagher and Wesley van Trijp ensured Culleton would win he group.
He was only denied a clean sweep in the very final match as Danny van Trijp kept his nerve to defeat him 4-3.
On this form Culleton will fancy his chances of going all the way when he competes in finals day at the Live Lounge in Portsmouth in three weeks time.
