Rock hoping to break new ground at World Championships

JOSH Rock will face up to one of the biggest games of his career to date this afternoon as he looks to make it to the quarter finals of the PDC World Championship for the first time.

The Antrim man will come up against impressive debutant Justin Hood for the chance to make it into the last eight and possibly beyond.

Rocky has been in excellent form at Ally Pally so far, producing a composed performance to see off Callan Ridz 4-2 in his last 32 clash on Monday night.

And as he prepares to face hood in the fourth round today, the World Cup of Darts winner insists there is more to come.

Rock said: "My game is in a good place at the moment, I can't complain about any aspects of it and hopefully when  I play Justin Hood I can continue the good form."

However Rock insists the game against Hood, who is playing in his first ever world championships, will be a difficult task for him.

He said: "It's going to be very hard. He is going to be up for it, and I'll be up for it tomorrow."

A win for Rock would see him land a glamour quarter final tie against the winner of three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen's clash with two-time champion Gary Anderson.
