Brilliant Butch eyeing up Modus glory after strong debut

THERE'S. a big two nights ahead for Donegal's Adrian 'Butch' Devine as he looks to make it through to finals night on the Modus Super Series on his debut.

After a brilliant three-day run in Group A, which saw Butch pick up no less than nine big wins, he has gained himself a spot in Group B with a great chance of advancing to Saturday's finals night.

An opening day victory in his very first match over former PDC tour card holder Graham Hall was a sign of things to come for Butch as he comfortably finished in the top three in a tough Group A on Wednesday.

That has placed him in Group B, where three of the five players will advance to finals night, with the opening round of fixtures coming on Thursday night.

It doesn't get any easier for Butch, though, as he's now pitted up against top class players in the form of former WDF world champion Andy Baetens, Northern Ireland's Kevin Burness, experienced Welshman Mark Warburton and England's Sam Spivey.

However if he can keep up his record of picking up an average of three wins a day then he should have no problem advancing to finals night.

He will begin his Group B campaign in the very first match against Spivey just after 10pm tonight.
