IRELAND'S teenage darts sensation Rebecca Allen has won her first senior women's WDF title after claiming the Scottish Open in Glasgow on Sunday night.
The 16-year-old was in sparkling form as she dethroned the reigning champion, Lorraine Hyde, with a 5-2 victory in the final.
The win was all the sweeter for the Carlow teen, after she had earlier been defeated in the final of the Girls Scottish Open by England's Macy Gibbons.
Her run to the final in the women's Scottish Open saw Rebecca take out some notable scalps along the away, including her old adversary Paige Pauling in the last 16 and a nail-biting 4-3 win over Sophie McKinlay in the semi-final.
Despite losing the opening leg of the final to the experienced Lorraine Hyde, Allen then rattled off four legs on the spin to open up an impressive 4-1 lead.
She then held her nerve to see out the big win by pinning double tops at the first time of asking in the seventh leg.
It capped off a brilliant weekend for Allen after she also won the Women's doubles with her partner Lynsey Ward on Friday night.
It was almost a double for Ireland on Sunday as Dylan Slevin also fought his way through to the final of the men's Scottish Open.
Competing in his first WDF ranking event since dropping off the PDC tour, Slevin showed his class by winning eight games on the spin to make it into the decider against England's James Beeton.
Slevin's run to the final included a last 16 victory over rising Northern Ireland star Christian Ennis and then a win over Republic of Ireland international Paddy Quinn in the quarter finals.
However he came up just short in the final as Beeton came from 3-2 down to win his second WDF ranking event with a 5-3 win.
