LEITRIM'S Ray Mulvey has enjoyed a sensational day at the Modus Super Series by winning all five of his games to top Group A after the first day of action.
The former Republic of Ireland international is way out in front in the race for finals night on Saturday as he sits on top, four points ahead of nearest rivals Steve West and Ben Robb.
However with two more days of Group A to go, Ray will be taking nothing for granted in a tough group that also contains the Dutch brothers Danny and Wesley van Trijp and Scotland's Willie Borland.
Competing for just his second time on the Modus Super Series, Mulvey set the Live Lounge in Portsmouth alight with some brilliant play all day.
He began his campaign with a 4-2 victory over Borland, before repeating the scoreline over Wesley van Trijp with a 90.99 average.
Mulvey then showed some real grit to come out on the right side of a last leg decider over Steve West, in a win that proved crucial to him opening up a four point gap at the top by the end of the day.
He wasn't finished there, however, as impressive back-to-back 4-1 wins over New Zealander Robb and Danny van Trijp means he is the man to catch over the new two days in Group A.
He will return to the Live Lounge tomorrow morning to begin with his reverse fixture with Van Trijp as he aims to keep the chasing pack well behind him.
