KILKENNY'S teenage darts sensation Eoin Roche says becoming the outright winner of the INDO Players Championship Division C is one of his best darting achievements to date.

The 16-year-old put in a sensational performance last Friday night to come from 3-0 down in the final to fellow Kilkenny man Chris Menton and claim the Players Championship crown.

The win over Chris, who was the runaway leader of the Division C league table,  was all the more remarkable given his run to the final was Eoin's best performance throughout the Players Championship.

He had previously made it to one semi-final, when he was defeated on that occasion by Chris,

However he said exacting sweet revenge in the Division C final is one of his best moments in darts, especially as it has now secured him a spot at the WDF World Masters in Las Vegas in July.

Eoin told Darts In Ireland: "It would be right up there as it was an unbelievable final as well and then to qualify for the World Masters in Las Vegas makes it even more special."

After topping his group in the early stages of the Division C finals night, Eoin then fought his way through to the final with impressive wins over James Mulvaney and Ireland youth international Tyler O'Connor.

It was no surprise when he met Chris Menton, who had been the most dominant player in Division C in that final, and soon found himself 3-0 behind in a race to four legs.

However, Eoin said he never gave up.

He said: "When I got my first leg,  I  just thought I had nothing to lose at that stage and I should just go at it and that's what I did.

"Coming into the night I thought sure I may as well give it a go at winning it, that's what I always think going into any event .

"I was steady enough throughout the Players Championship. I got to a semi-final of one of them, and Chris beat me that night, so to beat a player like him in the final is great."

Eoin said the victory will give great impetus to achieve his other goals this year.

He added: "I will try my best now at the INDO ranking events but I'm also looking to make the Ireland team for the JDC World Cup in Gibraltar. That's a big goal too."
