GALWAY'S Dylan Dowling had a good run at the ADC National finals in the UK today as he made it to the final 32 out of up to 500 players.
The Terminator was in fine form in Aylesbury as he won three games on the spin to make it into the top 32,
He dropped just one leg in his opening two victories over Brendon Clarke and Morgan Shillito.
He then put in one of the performances of the day as he rattled in three maximums and averaged a superb 109.31 to whitewash Darren Johnson in the last 64.
Dowling was unable to keep up that momentum, however, as he fell to Thomas Banks in the last 32, losing that game 5-2.
Meanwhile, Donegal's Dean and Derek Gallagher both made it to the last 64 with a couple of impressive wins along the way.
There was further success on Friday night for Offaly's Ronan McDonagh as he won a special knockout competition at the National Finals.
Just a week after making it to the final of the WDF Irish Classic in Killarney, McDonagh made it to another decider, this time coming out on top as he beat Fabian Tapner in the final.
McDonagh was in excellent form throughout the competition, defeating experienced pro Terry Jenkins in his last 16 clash, before averaging 91.39 in his quarter final victory over Michael Wiles.
McDonagh then overcame his fellow Irish player, Ray Mulvey, in the semi finals, before taking care of business in the final against Tapner by securing a 4-1 win with an 88.56 average.
