Finn on course to make Modus finals night

IRISH darts star Dean Finn has given himself every chance of making it into the Modus Super Series finals night after winning two of his opening four Group B games.

The Republic of Ireland international currently sits third in the Group B table, with the top three set to go through to finals night on Saturday following another round of games tonight.

Finn was in flying form in Group B early on, winning two of his first three games and even wiring a double 12 for what would have been a stunning nine darter against Johan Geldenhuys.

The Waterford man averaged a superb 103.16 to win that game 4-2, as it matched the Modus record of nine maximums in the six legs played, with six of them coming from Finn.

That victory gave Finn a good chance of finishing off the night second in the Group B table behind leader Archie Self.

However a 4-2 defeat in his last match to Tommy Lishman gave his opponent a chance to leapfrog him in the table as he then secured a third win of the night for him  over Geldenhuys.

It means Finn sits third in the table on four points, needing at least two more wins tonight if he is to advance to Saturday's finals night.
