CORK darts legend John O'Shea was very much the man of the moment on Saturday night when he was the weekly winner on Series 11 of the Modus Super Series.
The Joker now joins an elite list of Irish players to win a week at the highly competitive competition that pits the best darts players in the world, without PDC Tour Cards, against each other.
The Modus Super Series has become hugely popular amongst Irish darts fans as they get to see some of our best players do their stuff at the Live Lounge in Portsmouth.
It helps that Irish players have been more than a match for their opponents, with four players from this country now crowned as weekly winners.
It was another Cork man, Ciaran Teehan, who got that ball rolling as he won week six of the first ever season of the Modus Super Series and repeated the trick in Series 7 to become the only Irish player to win in two separate weeks.
Mayo's Conor Heneghan was also a weekly winner in Series 7 and he's become a regular fixture in a competition in which he has created his own bit of unique history.
Heneghan is the only player at Modus to have hit a staggering three nine dart finishes in the competition, with his most recent coming just a few weeks back in Series 10.
Monaghan man Shane McGuirk has also made a name for himself at Modus, once winning a record-equalling 14 games on the spin in Group A, and was finally a weekly winner in Series 10 too.
Others have come close to weekly glory as well, with Carlow's Niall Culleton losing out in a final in Series 2, with Offaly's Ronan McDonagh doing likewise in Series 10, with Dublin's Killian McCormack, Waterford's Dean Finn and Mayo man Ultan McDyer also making their mark.
The only thing the Irish have yet to do is go on to become an outright series winner at Champions Week, but with O'Shea already there for Series 11 and a few more top Irish players to play in the coming weeks, who's to say it won't happen for one of them this time.
