THE transition from youth darts into the senior ranks can be difficult for some players to traverse, but not so for Irish teenage star Rebecca Allen.
The 16-year-old Carlow sensation has already been a winner of INDO Ladies ranking events here in Ireland, and is also setting her stall out further afield too.
That much was clear after Allen made it all the way to the final eight of Event 20 at the PDC Women's Series in the UK recently.
Her brilliant run was only brought to a halt by the sensational Beau Greaves, who went on to win all four Women's Series events held that weekend.
However, Allen told Darts In Ireland that her run to the final eight - in her first ever weekend competing at the PDC Women's Series - shows the potential she has.
It was equally satisfying given the tough start Allen had to her maiden Women's Series adventure, after she went out in the early stages of the three previous events.
She told Darts In Ireland: "It was a good experience. I think it was a bit slow at the start as I was trying to get used to the set up and everything over there. But I think I made up for that in the end.
"The first few games I had chances but I just didn't take them."

That all changed during Event 20, when Rebecca got some momentum by defeating Scotland's Chloe O'Brien in her opening match.
That was followed up by back-to-back wins over the English pair, Eleanor Cairns and Kirsty Hutchinson, to set up her last eight clash with Greaves.
Allen said she was thrilled to have finally made an impact.
"I was delighted on the Sunday to get as far as the quarter finals," she said.
"And even then to take two legs off Beau, when I was thinking I would be lucky to get one the way she was playing.
"I really liked playing against her as she is just so smooth. The whole game ran so smoothly and had such a good rhythm, it suited me."
Rebecca said her run will give her confidence going into future Women's Series events.
"I will go to the rest of the Women's Series events this year," she said.
"I think the next weekend I play there will be better now as I know what it's all about.
"Hopefully I can just get going from the start next time."
But she is not setting herself any unrealistic targets.
Rebecca added: "I'll just try to get past the first round a few times and take it from there."
