THE Division A table topper in the INDO Players Championships, Damien Grimes, said he's pleased to have finished there given the high standards on show.
The Louth county player said he hopes he can contain the momentum gained from it for the rest of the year with some big tournaments coming up.
He confirmed his spot at the top of the Division A table by winning the last of the five events in Ballina.
Grimes said that the addition of the Players Championships on the Friday night of the INDO ranking weekends has been beneficial to his game.
He told Darts In Ireland: "Coming into a Friday night, with the players that are there in the A Division you know there is no easy games in there.
"It doesn't matter who you are playing against, it is going to be a high standard.
"For me, that's why I wanted to get to the Friday nights because it is a great warm up for the Saturday and Sundays."

Damien said he will be aiming to go on and win the finals night of the Players Championships to secure himself a spot t the 2026 WDF World Masters.
He has already qualified for this year's Masters in Hungary and would like to ensure he is there again next year.
Grimes said: "I would be delighted to get the Masters through it. I've got a Masters spot for this year, yeah, but you can never guarantee that you are going to qualify again for it, so you have to take it as it comes.
"I would love to qualify for it again next year and hopefully go again and see what happens."
Meanwhile, Damien is aiming to put a good run together when he heads to Budapest for the WDF World Masters next month.
He added: "I'd love to get out of the group. On the Wednesday of it, it's the group stages and for me that's the goal.
"If I can make the knockouts, anything after that, I'll take it as it comes."
