IRELAND'S Shane McGuirk says he's raring to go for the Modus Super Series Champions Week, which kicks off on Monday.
The reigning WDF world champion will battle against 11 other weekly winners for the chance to win the €25,000 top prize
next Saturday night.
It's the first time that the Monaghan man has qualified for the Champions Week, and he says he's ready for the challenge.
Shane told Darts In Ireland: "I start off in Group A on Monday so I'll be playing for the whole week.
"The aim will be to try to finish in the top three in Group A, which I think is manageable. If you can't win Group A then it's best to at least try to get into Group B which is easier to qualify into finals night for."
Shane says that entering into the week as a reigning world champion may well see him have a target on his back.
However he said that may also work to his advantage.
He added: "There is that added pressure of being a world champion in that big things will be expected of you coming into a week like this.
"But it can work both ways in that it can also put pressure on your opponent as they will know what I'm capable of."
Shane says he's happy with his form coming into the week, after making it onto the Ireland team for the WDF Six Nations last weekend and winning another event in Cavan during the week.
The Arrow made it to the semi finals of the INDO Irish Singles in Galway last Saturday, and the last 16 of the Irish Trophy on Sunday.
It gained him enough ranking points to finish in the top five and claim a spot on the Six Nations team.
Then on Monday he retained the Blacklion Eight Week trophy he also won last year after defeating Leitrim's Ray Mulvey in a brilliant final.
Shane said: "It was nice to make it onto the Ireland Six Nations team, and I hope to be able to play at that in Wales with some great players in June.
"It was also great to beat Ray Mulvey in that final on Monday as Ray is playing some great darts at the moment and it was a really tough game.
"I played really well all night at that, which I'm delighted about, as it gives me great confidence coming into this week."
