SHANE McGuirk has squeezed into Group B at the Modus Super Series Champions Week after a difficult day for the Irishman at the Live Lounge.
The Arrow came into the final day of Group A action with hopes of winning the group outright and securing his spot at Saturday's finals night.
However, that chance soon evaporated as he uncharacteristically lost his first four games of the day to leave him in third place in the group.
But given he started the week with the aim of at least making it into the top three in the group, Shane will be relieved to have achieved that.
The Monaghan man saved his best for last, as he averaged an impressive 102.71 in his 4-1 win over Welshman Derek Coulson that secured him third spot in the group.
It's the second time this week that McGuirk has averaged over 100 in beating Coulson, with those two defeats for Coulson also costing him the chance to win the group.
It means both McGuirk and Coulson will compete in Group B over the next two nights against Sam Spivey, David Davies and Devon Peterson, with three men advancing from the group to finals night.
Shane will be happy with that outcome, given he has avoided dropping into Group C, where only two players from six qualify for finals night.
