A LATE flurry from Shane McGuirk has kept his hopes of qualifying for the finals nights at Modus Super Series Champions Week very much alive as he lies third in Group B, with three players to qualify.

The Monaghan man had a tough start to his Group B campaign, losing his two opening matches to group leader Sam Spivey and ADC Global champion Devon Peterson.

However, the Arrow soon rallied to pick up two crucial wins that leaves him well placed to claim a spot in Saturday's finals night.

He began his comeback with a 4-1 win over a familiar face in Derek Coulson, with McGuirk averaging an impressive 97.48 to beat the Welshman for the third time this week.

With his first win on the board, McGuirk then ended his night with a crucial 4-2 win over David Davies, this time averaging 98.83.

That win insures McGuirk is in third place in the group, just two points off top spot, with another round of action tonight.

He will need at least two more wins to be fully sure of returning tomorrow for a crack at winning Series 10 and the £25,000 top prize.
