IRISH darts star Katie Sheldon was in sensational form as she won four of her five matches at the Modus Super Series today.
Sheldon will be kicking herself that she made a slow start yesterday as she almost ran through the entire field today in Group C.
Meanwhile, her fellow Irish player Robyn Byrne just missed out on making finals night as she finished third in the group, just two points off second place with two qualifying.
Sheldon began her day today with a 3-1 victory over Byrne to avenge her defeat to her yesterday by the same scoreline.
She then added further wins over Trina Gulliver and Vickey Pruim to start moving up the Group C table.
When she won her next match over Paige Pauling, Sheldon began to dream of finishing the day off with a perfect record, before Kirsty Hutchinson spoiled her party by beating her 3-0 in her final game of the day.
After losing her first game of the day to Sheldon, Robyn Byrne kept her finals night qualification hopes alive by winning her next two matches over Hutchinson and Pruim.
That set her up for a crunch clash with second placed Gulliver, which Byrne unfortunately lost 3-2 to end her hopes of finishing in the top two.
However she rounded her day off with another win over Paige Pauling to finish third in the group, as Pruim and Gulliver qualified for finals night.
