PADDY Quinn and Ciaran Teehan were the best of the Irish on the PDC Challenge Tour today as they each made it to the last four of an event.
Ireland international Quinn enjoyed an exceptional Challenge Tour 11 as he won through five games on the spin to make it to the semi-finals.
The Waterford man's run began with a last leg victory over Scottish veteran John Henderson, who is usually one of the toughest players to beat on the Challenge Tour.
That set him up with a last 64 clash against Englishman Jarred Cole, which Quinn won 5-2, before he posted his best average of the day at 95.28 as he again won a last leg decider against Graham Usher.
Quinn's ability to keep his head in tight games came to the fore again in his last 16 clash against another Englishman, Tommy Morris, before doing so again the quarter finals over Martin Thomas of Wales.
His hopes of winning the event outright were dashes in the semi-finals, however, when young English star Henry Coates won the last three legs in just 42 darts to record an impressive 5-2 win.
Quinn's fellow Waterford player, Dean Finn, also had a decent run to the last 16 before he crashed out to last week's Modus Super Series winner Jenson Walker.

Meanwhile in Challenge Tour 12, it was the turn of Quinn's good pal, Ciaran Teehan, to turn on the the style and reach the last four.
The former PDC Tour Card holder began his run with a whitewash win over Jamie Foster of England, before he too beat John Henderson to advance to a last 64 clash with fellow Irishman Neilie Brouder of Meath.
Teehan edged that one 5-3 with an 88.52 average, before winning two tight games on the last leg in a row over Ash Ling and Andy Hamilton.
That put Teehan through to a quarter final against the current No.2 on the Challenge Tour, Beau Greaves, and he again came out on top, this time with a 5-3 win.
His run came to an end in the last four when he was beaten by the eventual winner, Jamai van den Herik of the Netherlands, who had earlier hit a nine dart finish.
The players will compete in another two rounds of the PDC Challenge Tour tomorrow.
