IT'S been another weekend of top class action and achievement from Ireland's top darts players in tournaments right across the continent.
Waterford's Dean Finn has certainly shown what he is about by making it to the final of his first ever ADC Winmau Challenge Tour event in the UK.
Dean won five games on the spin to make it into the final of Event 5 at Bradmoor Farm, averaging over 90 in his last 16 win over David Pallet and coming from 4-2 down in his semi-final to beat Mark Gallett 5-4.
He eventually had to settle for the runner up spot after losing a high class final 5-3 to Shaun Fox.
However, Finn's run to the final has put him in the mix to make it into the top eight on the Winmau Challenge Tour which would earn him a spot in the ADC finals day and chance to qualify for the ADC Global Championship at the end of the year.
Finn says that is his goal, stating: "The plan is to be in the top 8 to make sure I am there on that finals day."

Meanwhile, in Hildesheim in Germany, a number of Irish players have made their mark across three days of action on the PDC Development Tour.
Galway's Dylan Dowling was the best of the Irish on Friday as he made it to the last eight of Event 11.
Dowling, who always seems to perform well on the PDC Development Tour, accounted for no less than four Dutch players in his run to the quarter finals, averaging an impressive 94.8 in his defeat of Stef Kosters in their last 32 clash.
He eventually fell 5-3 to another Dutch player, Angelo Balsamo, in the last eight, letting a 3-1 lead slip in that game.
However Dowling's run should see him pick up some crucial ranking money that will keep in and around the top 25 on the Development Tour Order of Merit.

On Saturday it was the turn of Offaly star Ronan McDonagh to impress as he made it all the way to the last four in Event 14.
McDonagh was in fine form as he won six games on the spin to make it to the semi-finals, including a win in the last 16 over fellow Irishman Sean McKeon.
His run was only halted by the eventual event winner, Jurjen van der Velde, who beat McDonagh 5-2 in the semi-final with a superb 92.95 average.
A number of other Irish players have also done well throughout the weekend, with Louth's Dylan Quinn, who is riding high on the PDC Development Tour Order of Merit also making it to the last 16 of Event 14.
Quinn also won another three games at Event 15 today as he made it as far as the last 32, which should see maintain his position in the top 30.
Another Irish player in that top 30, Tipperary's Aidan O'Hara, also had his best day today at Event 15, as he too won three games in a row to make the last 32, while McDonagh had to settle for the last 64 today.
