IRISH darts star Shane McGuirk has firmly installed himself as favourite to win another week at the Modus Super Series following a stunning night of Group B action from him.
The Monaghan man recorded three ton-plus averages on his way to comfortably topping the group and qualifying for the finals night tonight.
With Cork's John O'Shea putting himself through to Champions Week last week, his Modus International Pairs partner is now looking on course to join him.
McGuirk began Friday night top of Group B and maintained his position there with an impressive 4-3 win over Carl Wilson in which he averaged 102.47.
A defeat to Lee Cocks in his next match proved to be just a momentary blip, as McGurik returned to winning ways with a 4-0 win over Scott Campbell with a 101.90 average.
He ensured he would finish off as the Group B winner with another whitewash win over Sam Spivey, this time averaging 100.20.
McGuirk will return to the Live Lounge in Portsmouth tonight for finals night alongside Carl Wilson and Scott Campbell who also made it through the group.
