IT'S always good to have a target in darts and for Leitrim star Ben Mulvey he has two big ones at the moment.

His brilliant win in the latest round of Division B of the INDO Players Championships has Ben dreaming of claiming a spot at the WDF World Masters next year.

And he also has his eye at making it onto the Connacht team for the INDO Inter-Provincial tournament next year.

Speaking to Darts In Ireland after a great weekend of success for him, Ben said: "Winning a whole night of the Players Championships has given me the confidence to believe I can go on and win Division B outright.

"If I can win a night in it now there's nothing to say that I can't go on and win the finals night and get that World Masters spot.

"That's the way I will be looking at it and claiming a spot at the World Masters next year is certainly an aim now."

Ben said his Division B win, which was secured with victory in the final over the division leader Brian Todd of Limerick, was reward for all his hard work of late.

He added: "Given the standard of the players in Division B it was really great to get that win.

"I didn't go into the night thinking I was going to win it but I was happy with how I was playing and to beat Brian in the final was a great feeling."

Ben followed up his Players Championship win on Friday night with a run to the last four of the Development Tour on Saturday.

That included him topping Group A before defeating rising Westmeath star James Morris 4-0 in the quarter finals.

However his run came to an end in the semi-finals when Ben lost out to the eventual runner-up, Ryan McKenna of Dublin.

Ben said: "The standard of play in the Development Tour on Saturday was amazing. Both Ryan McKenna and the eventual winner Ryan Murphy of Galway played some brilliant darts with great averages, as did Dylan Quinn.

"It just shows what quality we have here in Ireland now."

Meanwhile, Ben is also aiming to push himself on the main men's INDO rankings table, with a view to claiming a spot on the Connacht team for the Inter Provincial championships next year.

Ben said: "There are two spots on that Connacht team for Leitrim but Ray Mulvey and Jason Vickers look to have those sown up.

"But there will be another two places on that team for the best placed Connacht players on the INDO rankings table and that's what I'm aiming for now."
