Sean is sure of future Modus success

SEAN McKeon reckons his previous heartbreaks in Modus Super Series qualifiers will ensure he has future success at the competition when he eventually gets there.

The 2024 INDO Irish Boys champion has been beaten in two ADC Ireland regional qualifier finals in a row, and lost out in a cracking semi-final in the most recent qualifier to eventual winner Damien Grimes.

However, while McKeon admits he was devastated to get so close yet miss out, he is looking to the future with confidence.

He told Darts In Ireland: "It was hard losing out in those two finals but the way I look at it now is that my time will come and when it does I will do well at Modus.

"I will at least make it to finals night, I am sure of that, given how tough it is to get through from Ireland."

Meanwhile, McKeon also harbours hopes of progressing through the PDC as he currently plays on the Development Tour.

He gave PDC Q-school a crack for the first time back in January and just missed out on making the final stages by one leg.

Sean added: "I played at PDC Q-School in January but I did it more for the experience this year as I didn't feel I was playing well enough to win my tour card.

"The first two days I was there, I was very nervous and didn't play very well. So on the last day I said to myself 'just do you' and I made it all the way to the last 16 that day, beating some very good players, and just missing out on making it to the final stages by one leg.

"My plan now is to just keep playing on the PDC Development Tour and when I'm really ready, go back to play at Q-School again. The big ambition for me is to win a professional tour card but it takes time."
