THERE was joy today for Republic of Ireland international Patrick Quinn as he won the ADC Ireland Open singles with some scintillating displays.
The World Cup bound star was in superb form throughout the day at the Talbot Hotel in Stillorgan, Dublin, as he averaged over 90 in five of his games.
That included in the final, when the Waterford county player beat Dublin's Killian McCormack 6-1 while posting a 90.73 average.
It was one of a number of brilliant performances from Quinn, who had earlier averaged 92.49 in knocking out Galway's Dylan Dowling in the last 16, before posting an even more impressive 95.53 in beating Dublin's Jacko Barry in the last eight.
Quinn accounted for another top Dublin player, Alan Richards, with a 5-2 win in his semi-final, before going on to beat McCormack in the final.
It comes after Quinn made it to the final of Division A of the INDO Players Championship last weekend and the semi-finals of the Irish Matchplay, showing that he is in good, consistent form ahead of the WDF World Cup in South Korea in September.

Another man in good form is Dublin's Killian McCormack who came through the other side of the draw with some superb performances of his own.
McCormack had to come through a nervy last-leg decider with Cork's former PDC Tour Card holder, Ciaran Teehan, in the last 32, before he defeated Shane Geoghegan, Dani Di Tofano and Niall Culleton, for the loss of just two legs, to set up the final with Quinn.
Carlow man Culleton also had a good run, taking out current PDC Tour Card holder, Dylan Slevin, in his last 16 clash and averaging 92.73 to edge out Irish youth captain Aidan O'Hara 4-2 in his quarter final.
