Team Ireland aiming for glory at Modus International Pairs

THE Ireland double act of John O'Shea and Conor Heneghan will be aiming for Modus International Pairs glory tonight after romping through Group B into finals night.

The pair will compete in what looks like a tricky Group 1 alongside reigning International Pairs champions, Netherlands, and Wales.

O'Shea and Heneghan have earned their spot in finals night after finishing second in Group B following two excellent nights of action at the Live Lounge in Portsmouth.

That run included two wins over England, made up of former world champions Steve Beaton and Adrian Lewis, which effectively dumped them out at the group stages.

Only a defeat to the USA in their very final match on Friday night prevented the Irish team from finishing as Group B winners.

However they will be more than happy to have earned their spot in finals night, alongside eventual group winners Canada and third-placed Sweden.

They will now prepare to go up against the Dutch pair of Danny Van Trijp & Jimmy Van Schie and the Wales team of Richie Burnett & Kurt Parry tonight, when they will need to win at least one of those games to stand a chance of advancing to the semi-finals.
