GALWAY darts star Johnny Bowles has expressed his delight at finally getting over the line and winning Event 4 of the INDO Players Championships Division B.

Bowles has been one of the most consistent performers in Division B so far this year, and currently sits second in the ranking table.

However despite making it to a semi-final and two quarter-finals - often losing to the eventual winner - it wasn't until last Friday night that Bowles tasted success himself.

He secured the event win with an impressive 5-2 victory over Event 3 winner, Ben Mulvey of Leitrim, in the final.

His run also saw him pick up big win in top class games against Patrick Sweeney, James Rock and Jackson Timoney.

He told Darts In Ireland: "It's a tough competition and there is a lot of really good players in Division B,  so to eventually get over the line, I'm absolutely delighted with that.

"There's something about this competitions that brings out the best in me. I normally don't average as good as I did in winning this night but when you're up against the quality of players in this then you have to do it."

Bowles was joined in the winners circle by Division A champion, Damien Grimes, and Division C winner, Tyler O'Connor.

He said the win has given him extra confidence, and he will try to push on to claim one of the spots open in the 2026 WDF World Masters for the winner of Division B.

He said of the World Masters spot: "It would be absolutely unreal, that would be the dream to experience that, but I'll just take one game at a time and see where it goes after that."

"I'll keep going to them all if I can. It can be difficult with family life and my wife give me great support. I'm not getting any younger so I will enjoy all these while I can.

"This is my first year doing the INDOs and I just wanted to get more experience in it and I can see already that is paying off."

And he is even eyeing up taking on the really big guns in  Division A of the competition next year.

Johnny added: "Hopefully I might even make it into the A Division for next year."
