DYLAN Dowling and Dylan Quinn were the best of the Irish at the PDC Development Tour 17 today.

The pair, who have been two of the best Irish performers on the tour over recent times, showed why again today as they both made it to their board finals and beyond on a packed day of oche action in Wigan.

Galway star Dowling had three impressive wins on his run to the last 32, that began with a whitewash win over Belgium's Dylan Vandewall.

His next game was an all Irish clash with Robbie Curran, which Dowling edged 4-2 with a 81.26 average.

That put him through to a clash with England's James Beeton, with Dowling holding his nerve to come back from 3-2 down to win 4-3, wrapping up the final two legs in just 32 darts.

However Dowling's run ended in the last 32 when he came out on the side of a last leg decider this time to Jarno Bottenberg of the Netherlands.

Meanwhile, Louth's Dylan Quinn was in equally good form as he took won his first three games on the spin.

Quinn's run began with a whitewash win over Alfie Cox, before he produced a superb 91.29 average in a 4-1 victory over England's Cayden Smith.

Quinn surpassed that with an even better 97.55 average as he beat Bradley Roes of the Netherlands 4-2 in his last 64 clash.

That set up a last 32 tie for him against PDC Tour Card holder Cam Crabtree, which the Englishman won 4-2.

However his good run should Quinn maintain his position as the best placed Irish player on the PDC Development Tour ranking table, with both he and Dowling inside the top 30.
