AOIFE McCormack was in superb form at the PDC Women's Series as she made impressive runs to the last eight in two successive events today.

The Irish world cup winner showed just why she's regarded as one of the best in the business, winning no less than seven of her games today, and nine across the weekend in total.

After making it to the last 16 at Event 22 on Saturday, McCormack went event better today, she won through to the quarter finals of Event 23 with three wins on the spin.

Her run began with a whitewash win over England's Crissy Manley, before McCormack had to show her grit by coming from 3-1 down to Janine Gough of Wales to eventually prevail 4-3.

The Kilkenny woman continued her good form in her last 16 clash with England's Carly Chenery as she won that game 4-2 to set up a quarter final clash with Angela Kirkwook.

Despite putting in her best average of the competition, McCormack came out of the wrong side of  5-2 defeat in that game.

However she was soon back in the winning groove in Event 24, beginning that with a 4-3 victory over her fellow Irish world cup winner Katie Sheldon.

McCormack then averaged 72 in overcoming English veteran Deta Hedman 4-2 in her last 64 clash, before she repeated that scoreline over Poland's Karolina Ratajska to advance to the last 16.

She once again displayed an incredible act of recovery as she came from 3-1 down to Gemma Hayter to rattle off the last legs to make her second quarter final of the day.

It was only the brilliance of Beau Greaves that eventually put a halt to McCormack, as the English woman prevailed 5-1 in their last eight clash.
