IT'S the final weekend of the PDC Challenge Tour with a number of Irish players aiming to make their mark in Wigan.
Monaghan's Shane McGuirk has done just that as he made it to the last 16 of CT21 on Saturday, picking up three wins on the spin before losing out to eventual winner Michael Unterbuchner.
Limerick man Flynn enjoyed a similar run in CT22 as he also made it to the last 16 in that event with three impressive wins to his name.
It means both players, who are the top two Irish players on the PDC Challenge Tour, will maintain their ranking positions inside the top 40 with two events to go today.
Meanwhile, Meath's Neilie Brouder was also in good form in CT21, making it to the last 32 for the second Challenge Tour event in a row for him.
It was reigning WDF world champion McGuirk who displayed the best form early on Saturday as he averaged 90 in an opening 5-2 win over Trevor Burchill.
He followed that by averaging an impressive 100.98 to defeat Lee Evans 5-3 in the last 64, before a 96.18 average saw him overcome Scott Waites in the last 32.
McGuirk was unable to maintain his momentum in his last 16 clash with Unterbuchner, however, going down 5-2 in that match, with the German going on to win CT21 from there.

It was Flynn who lead the running in CT22 as he won three games on the spin to make it to the last 16.
His run began with a 5-1 win over Hungarian Pal Szekel, before Flynn posted an impressive 5-0 whitewash win over the experienced Welshman Mike Warburton.
He put in his best average of the day with a 94.53 to defeat Darren Armstrong 5-2 in the last 32, to set up a last 16 clash with England's Daniel Astbury.
He was well in that game as just 3-2 behind going into the closing stages, before Astbury won the next two legs in just 35 darts to advance.
It was a decent day too for Neilie Brouder, who picked up where he left off in PC20 by making it to the last 32 in PC21 as well.
That included wins over England's Alan Norris and Matthew Hall for the loss of just one leg.
Broeder had then given himself every chance of making it to the last 16 as he led Scotland's Scott Campbell 4-3 in their last 32 clash, but just fell short in that one as his opponent came back to win 5-4.
All three will be back in action today for the final two events of this year's PDC Challenge Tour.
