STEVE Lennon and Dylan Dowling led the Irish charge on the first weekend of the PDC Challenge Tour in Milton Keynes.
Carlow man Lennon capped off an excellent opening few days for him by making it to the final of Challenge Tour event 5 today.
Only a defeat in the final of that to England's Jack Tweddel denied Lennon a spot in the top two on the CT Order of Merit.
He's jumped into the top four in that as it is, having also made it to the semi-final of CT4 on Saturday.
It means Lennon has given himself a great chance of some early call ups for the PDC Players Championships when they begin next month.
Lennon's run to the final today saw him win no less than eight games on the spin, averaging an impressive 94.68 in his 5-2 win over rising star Henry Coates in his semi-final.
The momentum was with Tweddel in the final, however, as he came out the victor in a 5-1 win.
Elsewhere, Galway's Dylan Dowling said he was pleased with his efforts over the weekend that saw him make a semi-final and finish off in the top 20 on the Challenge Tour Order of Merit.
Dowling's best run came on Friday evening when he made it to the final four of CT 2.
It means he too could be in line for some call-ups to the PDC Players Championships if he can maintain or even better his position in the table.
Cork's Ciaran Teehan also had a good run to the last 16 in CT5 today, only losing out in that in a last leg decider to Henry Coates, in a cracking game that saw bot players averaging over 90.
Meanwhile, Dublin's Killian McCormack had his best run of the weekend, winning four game on the spin to make it into the last 32, before he lost out to Stef Kosters of the Netherlands.
