THEY may be known as the Wee County but Louth have some big darts talent amongst their ranks.
With reigning INDO Inter Counties singles champion Damien Grimes, rising star Dylan Quinn and BDO veteran Owen Caffrey leading the charge, Louth are certainly not a team to be taken lightly.
A defeat in the last 16 to near neighbours Meath in last year's Inter Counties stung, but Louth's captain Mark Connolly reckons they can push on from that this year.
Mark told Darts In Ireland: "We have had great development in Louth darts over the last ten years and we starting to see that now.
"We were in the last 16 against Meath last year and it went all the way to a last leg shootout.
"We used to be the team that other counties were happy to get but now we are the ones to watch. We're not a bye for anyone anymore."
Mark said topping their group in Saturday will be the main goal for Louth.
He added: "If we can do that we can get stuck in then in the knockouts on Sunday and go as far as we possibly can."
The Louth Ladies will also be a team to watch out for after their recent impressive championship runs.
The Louth Ladies, like their mens team, made it all the way to final of the shield at last month's Leinster Championships, and were also in the last four of the shield at last year's Inter Counties championships.
Mark said: "Our Ladies team is coming on great and they could do very well this year.
"Making it to a final at the Leinster Championships will have been a great experience for them as it was for our men's team and it's great preparation for us now heading into Killarney."
