AFTER an impressive run to the last four of the Inter Counties championships last year, Offaly hold genuine hopes of grabbing all out glory in Killarney this weekend.
Offaly is a team that is jam-packed with talent, with even the loss of new PDC tour card holder Stephen Rosney cushioned by the return of Dylan Slevin into the fold.
It means Offaly will be hoping to hit the ground running this weekend as they aim to go deep into the competition.
Offaly secretary Leanne Holland told Darts In Ireland that there is a fair amount of confidence amongst the squad that they can achieve big things this weekend.
Leanne said: "Stephen Rosney is a big loss as he was our captain and everybody looked up to him, but we're delighted to have Dylan back.
"It shows the talent we have in this Offaly squad but we will be taking nothing for granted as every county is getting stringer now and every game will be tough."
Leanne said Offaly were disappointed to go out in the quarter finals of the Leinster Championships last month, but she reckons that could give them the impetus to push on this time.
She added: "We got a bit of a kick in the backside in the Leinsters when Kildare beat us in that quarter final but hopefully the team will have learned from that.
"We have a good mix of players with the right experienced they are all very close and good friends so that could stand to us too.
"Offaly last won the Inter Counties in 2017, so it would great to experience that again.
"We went close last year by making the semi-finals and only lost out to the eventual winners Donegal so that shows how close we are."
