Wexford hoping to time Killarney challenge perfectly

TIMING can be everything in darts and Wexford reckon they may just be about to get that right for the INDO Inter Counties in Killarney.

Wexford stalwart Noel Redmond told the Darts In Ireland he feels both their Ladies and Men's team are hitting their best form just when it's needed.

It's why Wexford are always seen as a county who can challenge for the top honours, with the Ladies team winning the Inter Counties just two years ago and the men doing likewise in 2016.

Noel said: "Our ladies team is always very strong and they will fancy their chances of going well again.

"After winning it in 2024 they got a bit of a shock by not getting out of their group last year but that can happen and it shows how competitive it is.

"But if they play the way they can then there is no reason why they can't go very far again."

Noel is also very confident that the Wexford men's team, which he is part of, can go deep into the tournament.

He said the likes of Jack Farragher and rising youths star Tyler O'Connor are ones to watch out for, while some of the older guard are also now hitting form.

Noel added: "We played at the Leinster Championships recently and went out to a good Dublin side in the quarter finals but I don't think we really put our best foot forward that day.

"I think a number of our players are really coming into form since then though.

"There are a few of us who play in the same league together in Wexford and I can see that they're all playing really good darts over the past few weeks.

"Hopefully that will stand to us this weekend and we can have another good run."
